Vowel Chart - Gr. 1

In Lesson 46 of the Gr. 1 PALS program, two vowels are introduced, "ee" and "ea".

I made this anchor chart so the students have a visual of this when reading.

Practice

While at the library this weekend, I found this DVD that has over 65 sight words that we have been practicing in PALS.

Looking forward to trying new songs and ways to practice sight words.

Great Website about Sight Words

KPALS - Pictures and Review Slideshow

I made the  JK/SK & Grade 1 classes little "pointers" they can use when doing their partner reading.  I got coloured popsicle sticks, googly eyes and jewels from Dollarama (my go-to store for school) and got out my hot glue gun and voila! Cute pointers for PALS!

Here is a Slideshow I am using this week to review the letters we have learned in the last few weeks.

Of course some fun songs at the end - love dancing with them!

Letter Tricks

While my husband watches the Montreal game (they are up by three by the way), I thought I would do something productive and make some little tricks for letter reversals you might find useful. I find the most common ones are the b and d, along with the p and g (although not as common).

I hope everyone is enjoying their time with their families (I know I am).
